Help us continue to tell Atlanta's stories via photography and art

About the Project

weloveatl inspires and empowers people in the Atlanta area to come together and share their love of the city through photography and other visual art. We strive to connect, support and build Atlanta’s photography community online and off and curate and present the work of that community in non-traditional galleries and installations throughout the city in order to promote love of Atlanta and support local non-profits throughout the city.

Started in 2012 as a grassroots Instagram hashtag in support of our first annual gallery show, the #weloveatl community has now grown to include 70,000 Instagram followers and over 875,000 images shared. The iconic #weloveatl truck, an old bread truck converted into a mobile photography gallery, is a mainstay at neighborhood festivals and has helped feed over 50,0000 people through the Atlanta Community Food Bank. Community portrait projects like Southern Refuge (in collaboration with the Square Mile Gallery and Clarkston Community Center), The Time is Right (in collaboration with the Center For Civil and Human Rights), and the 45x45 Project (in collaboration with the Inside Out Project), have told the visual stories of hundreds of Atlantans who are making positive change in the community. And our public art projects and activations have been seen by millions of residents and visitors -- projects like the Five Points MARTA station gallery takeover (8,475,000 estimated impressions), The (He)art Gallery Beltline installation (1,800,00 impressions), and the CNN Center interactive gallery (2,100,000 impressions).

As a part of our mission, we are passionate about not only featuring stories via art and photography, but also celebrating Atlanta's diverse diverse and rich communities. Our team of volunteer staff members collaborate with local institutions to create free educational events, public installations, forums, cultural celebrations and much more.

By contributing to weloveatl, you will help us:

  1. Bring new and fresh educational series to our community
  2. Organize and execute documentary photography projects capturing stories of our city
  3. Print the featured photographs featured in our truck and our gallery shows
  4. Keep the weloveatl truck running so it can continue to attend Atlanta events, share the work of the weloveatl community, and raise money for the Atlanta Community Food Bank (one photograph feeds 103 people)
